The Potsdam Lions Club has over 70 years of service to the greater Potsdam community. I am proud to be associated with the Potsdam Lions Club, and honored to be chosen to lead the Club for one year.
During my 2007-2008 term I will be forging partnerships with the other service organizations in our area, conducting a Community Assessment with input from the other service clubs, and continuing our membership drive. There will also be an effort to make improvements to the Fall Island Park. The Potsdam Lions Club maintains the lower half of the park by the water. There are plans to pour pads for new tables and benches. The addition of plantings will make this community space more appealing too.
The Potsdam Lions Club, like most service organizations, is facing many challenges. The majority of the challenges can be met by increasing membership. This creates a more equitable work load!
I was told once that 100% of the good deeds get done by 15% of the population. That's a sad situation! By becoming a member of the Potsdam Lions Club you have the opportunity to provide direct help to your community, and to make an impact worldwide. As a team we can accomplish more than any person could do alone.
